And.....healthy eating....this time last week I was eating fried food with no guilts....now I am eating vegetables and pretending to like it....rubbish!!

Back from the Land of Beautiful People...

So I am back from Ibiza....slightly bruised and worse for wear but generally in good shape and here is what I learnt from my experience....

1. Although Ibiza is the land of the achingly hip and trendy....vintage still rocks. I wore this outfit on the 'Showgirls and Sequins' night. Yes it was hot (thank you 1970's polyester) but I got tons of compliments and stood out...maybe a bit too much!!

2. We all try and loose that magical half a stone before holiday but once you are there it doesn't really matter if you have lost it or not....and it will not stop you having a fry up for breakfast followed by steak for dinner....with chips....and bread...with garlic mayo...all washed down with a litre of sangria.

3. Even though I haven't really exercised in...well....ever I was still able to dance for around six hours a night non-stop....sturdy legs I salute you!!

4. You are able to make fabulous new friends in a short space of time but also it doesn't actually matter if not everyone likes you.

5. And finally....no matter how brown you think you are if you sit on the last day in the sun with no protection on you will burn....FACT!!

Big Nights Out....

Today I am tired....at it is all my fault.

I spent the weekend before I go to the Island of Beautiful People (Ibiza) not relaxing, packing, getting my beauty regime up to scratch so I look totally fabulous for the upcoming trip....but instead I spent it jumping in a field on Friday whilst drinking every alcoholic substance possible, Saturday I ate more sausages that I have in my whole life and followed it up with white wine and then Sunday I ate a fry up followed by fried chicken.

Disgusting.

However...it does make you realise that no matter how much you try and plan to be good and healthy life always gets in the way.

To make up for the lack of pre-Ibiza beauty I have just bought this dress which makes my boobs look huge and waist look tiny....I admit it took some time getting it on and I was quite hot by the end of it but it is well worth it as it makes you look like you have lost half a stone instantly.

It also comes in red so I may buy both and then wear them everyday for an instant feel good fix....!!

Vintage Festival...

Well....it is smack bang in the middle of July which means only one thing....FESTIVAL SEASON.

This year I am off to Lovebox (only for one day as I am too old for any more), the Big Chill and to Brownstock.

I love a good festival but the same dilemma pops its ugly head up every year....what to wear.

Now if you are lucky enough to be born with legs like bambi then you have nothing to worry about as you can don a pair of denim shorts and wellies and away you go but for us ladies with more curvaceous of legs there is more of a quandary.

If it is hot then a gorgeous maxi is the way to go I feel as it hides the legs and makes you look taller (if you are small like me) and can be layered up with a denim waistcoat or leather jacket, tons of bangles and a straw trilby.

If it is cold and rainy I am feeling a vintage dress and wellies or knee high socks and plimsolls....both are flattering especially if the skirt is just hitting the knee. A fake fur is a great festival look that works perfectly with vintage and of course big sunglasses (all the top models wear their sunnies in the rain darhling...) and boho jewellery.

 I have found some fab plimsolls and trilby's at good old Primark as well as tons of great costume jewellery perfect for the festival season and then not too bad if it gets ruined or lost (this happens a lot when I go to festivals).

Short Stuff....one for all you short brides...

This weekend saw me venture for the first time into the land of trying on wedding dresses......and let me tell you it is not as much fun as I thought.

My dream dress was a vintage lace creation with tiny cap sleeve and a small train or...failing that a 1950's prom dress. In the first shop that I had made an appointment in I choses an armful of dresses, sat Mother Hummingbird down with some bubbly and prepared to make her cry with the view of me...her only daughter...in a wedding dress.

The first dress I tried on was infact my 'dream dress'....after I had spent a good five minutes struggling into this dress (no help from the owner I might add) I threw back the curtain to have a look only to find that I look about a foot shorter that I actually am and FAT....it was not a good look.

After trying on a few more it turns out that lace is not the way to go if you are very short and very curvy....who knew!!

So then I started trying on EVERYTHING...from dresses so ridiculous that I couldn't even walk as they were so heavy to those so tight that sitting down would be impossible.

I left the shop announcing that all wedding dresses look rubbish on me and proceeded to get drunk..!!!

The next day...refusing to give up we went to another bridal shop....to be honest I did not hold out much hope....but it was WONDERFUL.

The girls in the shop we so lovely and helped me in and out of each dress although it was sightly mortifying standing there in non matching undies...note to self...always wear matching underwear from now on..!!

After they had laced me into the dress I would go and stand on a podium to see the dress in all it's splendor and...to be honest...they all look totally amazing until I stepped off the podium and lost a good foot in height....then I looked like a hobbit in a wedding dress.

Out of all of them this was my favourite.....

...it looked amazing on but what you have to realise is that I am so short that this dress was resting just above my ankles and when I stepped off the podium I looked like a wide toilet roll cover that my Nan used to have.
So it turns out that what I thought suited me is actually completely wrong and instead of a big bold 1950's dress I actually need a sleek elegant dress that will slim me down and make me look taller......either that or I get my legs extended..!!

Hello there my fellow business owners...this one is especially for you...!!

A few weeks ago I told you about the fab Analytics Gurus that have helped my business take off through increasing my website traffic (majorly) and also my sales....I love them so much that when I came to see them today I bought them all cakes.

As quite a few of you were interested in this I have set up a meet and greet and/or a conference call so they can explain to anyone else who needs a little bit of help how they can improve your business.

The meet and greet and call are totally free to join and there will be snacks...hurrah...I am just going for them!!

The meet and greet will take place in Shoreditch next Wednesday/Thursday (depending on what date/time everyone can make) and the conference call will be the week after..!!

Vintage or not to Vintage....that is the question....

So here I am...six weeks after getting engaged and I am already obbsessed....with wedding dresses!!

My biggest dilema however is not the length, style or even price but whether or not to go for a vintage dress over a new one.

See...the thing is that the boy is not a fan of vintage whereas I am addicted to the stuff. Normally I would wear whatever I wanted but this is the one time that I want the boy to look at me and think WOW and I am unsure a vintage dress would pull this reaction from him.

Then...if I do decided to go for a new dress do I still go for the vintage style as if I do this then I might as well get the real deal.

I have been looking around (as I am sure you can imagine) and I have to tell you one thing....vintage wedding dresses are BLOODY EXPENSIVE. I am talking £2,000 minimum for a good one. WOW!!

Don't get me wrong if I had the money I would do it but how many of us really have that much money to spend on a dress.....apart from the likes of Kate Moss whose dress I almost wept over!!

So that is my dilemma....if I go vintage the boy probably wont like it and if I don't then I feel that I am not being true to myself....can someone please help!!

Cycling in a Spaceship....the true tale of what happened to me yesterday....

So it seems that I may talk a bit too much about my lard arse and tree trunk legs on here as yesterday I got a call from the lovely people at Hypoxizone asking me if I wanted a trial on one of their machines.

For those of you who don't know (...and this included me) Hypoxizone is basically a bike situated in a vacuum which you cycle on for thirty minutes and apparently loose a gazillion inches from your legs and bum...BLOODY AMAZING.

I practically skipped to the studio imagining myself running down the beaches of Ibiza with my gazelle like legs getting admiring glances from the men and jealous ones from the ladies.

When I got there the science behind it all was explained to me and now I will try and remember it....!!

Basically it seems that when we try and loose weight blood has to travel through the fat and for some reason on us ladies the fat tends to go from our chest area first. This is a true fact....I diet for ages and all I end up with is a smaller bra size....but I digress. The machine uses a vacuum to target the stubborn fat areas on you bum and legs so you loose the weight from there rather than anywhere else.

After the explanation was done I was strapped into a rubber tutu (at this point I am standing in the middle of the gym surrounded by body builders....!!) and then told to get on the bike. Once on the vacuum machine or 'spaceship' is enclosed around you and attached to the rubber tutu and then you cycle.

I was told that my heart rate should be above 115 and below 130...keeping it in this area alone took effort as I am seriously unfit so was either not pedaling hard enough or pedalling hard but with a ridiculous heart rate.

To be honest the thirty minutes went really quick and there are magazines around to read and the instructors are lovely. Once I had been unharnessed I felt hot but not like I had done a work out and sadly my legs looked exactly the same.

However I spoke to a lovely lady who has just done a course of 12 and she said that the treatment works amazingly well and she has lost tons of inches so maybe the spaceship is the way to get the body of a goddess after all!!

It's sale time....

Last week I realised to my delight that it was summer sale time....hurrah.

Admittedly it does feel slightly odd given that we haven't had a summer but never the less I decided to get my sale hat on and see what was out there.

I ended up (as I always do) in Mango as I love the way the clothes fit but sadly don't like their prices as I am trying to keep to a budget.

However it soon became apparent that the Gods of shopping had heard my plight for new clothes on a tight budget and persuaded Mango to slash all their prices....AMAZING.

So....I bought three amazing looking and amazingly cheap dresses...sadly they are no longer on the website but they look a bit like these D&G ones but without the hefty price tag.....

....just beautiful. And perfect for the summer....whether it is lunch in the sun or dancing in a random bar after drinking all day (me on Friday).

For those who are wondering how the diet is going over the weekend I ate and drank the following.....posh three course lunch including champagne and wine, ten mojitos, a curry, chicken nuggets and chips, eight alcopops (at a festival so couldn't be helped), pizza and a huge Italian meal with garlic bread....I AM DISGUSTING....but am positive that I can detox my body into submission in the next two weeks!!
